Gymnastics
Our Youth Gymnastics program at the Mecklenburg County YMCA is perfect for pre-school gymnasts, veterans, long-time recreational gymnasts, and newcomers alike! Our classes offer a fun and supportive environment while teaching the fundamentals, developing body awareness, strength, and flexibility, as well as an appreciation for this incredible sport.
All Gymnastics classes are held at our Gymnastics Facility located in Downtown Clarksville, VA.

Advanced Tumble
Gymnasts continue advancing strength, control, and form while working on back handsprings, front handsprings, and connected tumbling passes.
Prerequisites: Coaches recommendation required for placement.
Practice will be held on Mondays from 7-8:30PM with Coach Jenna and Jade.

Competition Team
A year-round competitive YMCA team program for AAU levels Copper, Bronze,
Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Sapphire. We incorporate our mission and our core values in every practice and meet that we participate in. Team members have opportunities to compete in local and state competitions. Participation is by invitation only and perspective athletes will need to be evaluated before an invitation can be extended. Gym II (Ages 7-10)
Gym II is designed for gymnasts who are building their gymnastics foundation and developing confidence across all apparatus. This class focuses on improving strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness while reinforcing proper technique and introducing new skills. Gymnasts will continue progressing through fundamental skills on vault, bars, beam, and floor in a fun and supportive environment.

Gym III (Ages 8+)
Gym III is designed for gymnasts with a foundation of basic skills who are ready to build strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence. This intermediate class introduces more advanced tumbling skills including handstand forward rolls, round-offs, back bends, handstand bridges, bridge kickovers, and more. Gymnasts will also work on bars and beam skills while continuing to develop proper technique across all apparatus.

Intermediate Tumble
Intermediate Tumble is designed for gymnasts with a solid tumbling foundation who are ready to advance to more dynamic and challenging skills. This class emphasizes proper technique, power, flexibility, and body awareness while progressing through skills such as back walkovers, front walkovers, roundoff back handsprings, and more advanced tumbling combinations. Athletes will build the strength, control, and confidence needed to safely master higher-level tumbling skills in a focused, supportive environment.

Tiny Tumblers: 6-weeks (ages 2-4)
Tiny Tumblers is a playful and active introduction to gymnastics for your littlest movers! This 6-week class focuses on basic movement, balance, coordination, and fun through creative obstacle courses and age-appropriate gymnastics activities. A great first step before committing to a full year.
